The Western Range Operations Communications and Information (WROCI) contract is one of the largest federal information technology and communications services contracts ever awarded to a small business, according to the Small Business Administration (SBA).
"The WROCI contract is one of the most complex acquisitions that Vandenberg has ever awarded," said Evelyn Swain, contracting officer for the 30th Contracting Squadron. "Competition was keen, but InDyne's proposal proved exceptional and provided the best overall value. We welcome InDyne aboard as part of Team Vandenberg."
"This contract award is a huge victory for small business and a great win for InDyne," said Leonard Manzanares, the SBA procurement center representative in Glendale, Calif.
InDyne teamed with Northrop Grumman Information Technology on the contract, which is a consolidation of several existing communications and IT contracts: Range Operations & Maintenance Support Services; Launch Communications; Command, Control, Communications & Computer; Vandenberg Electronic Security Systems, and Technical Support & Computer Services.
"We are delighted to be selected as the WROCI contractor, and we are looking forward to a partnership with Vandenberg, 30 SW and the Air Force," commented C. Donald Bishop, InDyne's President and Chief Executive Officer. "Our enterprise management strategy and reputation for providing the government with cost-effective, innovative solutions will ensure that VAFB's mission will result in success. We are proud of our WROCI team and are committed to the successful execution of the requirements of this mission critical contract. This is a particularly significant contract for us because it demonstrates our extensive expertise across all core business units."
The 30th Space Wing at Vandenberg is the Air Force Space Command organization responsible for all Department of Defense space and missile launch activities on the West Coast. All U.S. government and commercial satellites destined for near polar orbit are launched from Vandenberg.
InDyne's Program Manager for the WROCI contract is Ken Cinal, a retired Colonel and former 30th SW Operations Group Commander at Vandenberg. Cinal's 25 years of Air Force service included an assignment at the Pentagon as the Deputy Director Nuclear and Counterproliferation. "It's great to be coming home to Vandenberg and the 30 SW," said Cinal.
Founded in 1984, InDyne Inc. is a high technology firm specializing in information technology and communications, science and engineering, and technical and administrative services. Inc. magazine ranked the company as one of the fastest-growing companies in 2001. InDyne has experienced over 800% of growth in the past 6 years, and with approximately 900 employees nationwide, InDyne supports a wide range of federal agencies and commercial customers. InDyne attributes this level of success to the fact that its contract performance has lived up to its mission statement: InDyne believes that its customers should pay for results -- not efforts.
